A first in the Netherlands: switches now digitally handed over via zentrak

Following earlier successful implementations in the Utrecht Provincial Tram Company, we are now introducing the digital delivery of switches via the zentrak platform in the Netherlands. This marks a new phase in the digitalisation of railway infrastructure — one in which data is made reliable, structured, centralised, and digitally accessible right from the source.

In its initial phase, the platform proved its value in optimising asset management processes by providing digital insight into infrastructure. Now, zentrak is taking the next step: becoming a structural part of the delivery phase for turnout systems. By using Digital Touch Points, each component of a switch receives its own digital identity. At the time of delivery, all relevant information is immediately made available in the zentrak Customer Portal—from technical specifications to maintenance data and certifications. No more scattered forms or Excel sheets, but one up-to-date, structured digital overview.
