Rubber coating protects railway tracks against corrosion


Our Rubber coating contributes to a longer lifespan and reliability of railway tracks, applied in, among other places, level crossings, pathways, tunnels, station areas, and bridges. The coating provides optimal protection against corrosion, and the effects of moisture, salts and acids. Additionally, the coating serves as insulation for good protection against stray currents. By applying the coating under controlled conditions prior to installation, we ensure an optimal result.

In addition to rubber coating, we also offer rail head coating for an excellent adhesion quality when the rail is cast. By working with standard rail lengths, we can, in many cases, deliver directly from stock. Of course, we are still happy to assist with special dimensions and specific lengths remain available from us.

In addition to applying the rubber coating, an epoxy top coating is also applied in the same production run. Guaranteed quality of the coating, which is then immediately ready for installation on the railway crossing, the bridge transition or the pedestrian crossing.

The longest rail coating line in the world

Our coating is applied in the longest coating line in the world, here at our site in Hilversum. We can fully coat our longest rail lengths (360 metres).


The extension of the lifespan of the rails has not gone unnoticed abroad either. For example, they are used in the Eurotunnel between France and Great Britain and in the Perthus tunnel between Spain and France. Our coated rails can also be admired in the Hong Kong metro line.

₃ The minimum order length is 18 metres; technically, it is not possible to blast and coat rails shorter than 18 metres. The rail is coated up to 0.5 metres from both ends. Coated lengths longer than 120 metres and up to a maximum of 360 metres are produced with flash butt welding.  Ask your Sales Engineer about the possibilities.
