Rail transport carriages
Transport of Rails
Robel
Our Robel is a single rail train, which can be divided into three variants:
- Robel180, with a maximum rail length of 180 metres
- Robel360, with a maximum rail length of 360 metres
On the Robel360, 24 rails of 360 metres can be transported. If one opts for rails of 180 metres, then 48 rails can be transported, divided over two rows. The Robel is always supplied with trained unloading personnel for operating the crane, the train, and providing support during the unloading of the rails.
OVI
The OVI is a train that can transport long rails of up to 120 metres and at least 9 metres in length.
Rail sections:
- The train is divided into three tiers. The first and second tier can hold 12 rails each, while the third tier can hold 10 rails.
- This train is officially intended for light rail but is offered as an alternative in the absence of the Robel.
- The OVI is delivered without unloading personnel , unlike the Robel.
General wagons
Regs/Rgs
The key feature of these wagons is their wooden floor. This prevents cargo from sliding on the floor, which is 18.5 metres long.
The Regs/Rgs are often used for the transport of rails and sleepers:
- Regs is the variant with side flaps
- Rgs is the variant without side flaps
Rails:
On a combination of four Regs/Rgs wagons, rails with a maximum length of 60 metres can be transported. These are arranged over two layers with 13 rails per layer, totalling 26.
For longer lengths, we recommend the OVI or Robel.
Sleepers:
For transporting sleepers on Regs/Rgs, the following arrangements can be chosen:
- 120 sleepers in two layers, without binding on wagons with flaps
- 120 sleepers in two layers, with binding on wagons without flaps
- 160 in three layers, with binding, either with or without flaps
Kls
A Kls often has the same characteristics as a Regs/Rgs but is smaller; the loading floor is 12.5 meters long. A Kls always has flaps and also a wooden bottom to prevent the load from shifting.
Rail tracks:
On a combination of five Kls, rail tracks with a maximum length of 60 meters can be accommodated. Distributed over two layers with 13 rail tracks per layer, 26 in total.
For longer lengths, we recommend the OVI or the Robel.
Sleepers:
For transporting sleepers on Kls, the following distributions can be chosen:
- 80 sleepers on two layers, without securing on wagons with flaps
Transport Ballast
Fas
A Fas is a large tipping wagon, suitable for the removal of old ballast and supply of new ballast.
The maximum load is approximately 45 tonnes and it can be unloaded sideways according to the instructions in the operating manual. A maximum of 5 barometer is required for unloading. This can be achieved with an external compressor or with the air from the locomotive.
Klmos
The Klmos is a wagon with its main feature being the steel floor. The wagons are equipped with flaps and are mostly used for transporting new and old ballast.
Due to the steel floor, the ballast can be unloaded with a crane. Each wagon can carry 25 tons of ballast.
SALT3
Our iconic Fccpps type wagon is suitable for 28 tonnes of new ballast. During the unloading of the ballast, it is covered with a layer of mist, preventing the released dust from dispersing into the air. This makes unloading the ballast significantly safer than traditional unloading methods.
The SALT3 operates in sets of four wagons due to the motorised water installation. Our Rail Logistics operator unloads the wagon using a remote control. The operator can be supplemented with additional manpower if desired, for faster unloading.
SALT1
Unlike the SALT3, the SALT1 has an external water tank. This water tank travels with the train and provides a supply of water during unloading. The SALT1 is unloaded manually. Only an operator is required to operate the water tank. If desired, the train can also be supplied without a water tank.
Road Transport
Lorry with Crane
For transporting heavy loads by road, a lorry with a crane is an extremely efficient transport solution. This powerful machine makes it possible to load heavy cargo of up to 24 tonnes and transport it safely by road.
The ability to transport loads up to 18 metres long makes the lorry with crane particularly suitable for transporting items such as point and crossing sections (new point sections up to 18.8 metres) and flash welds.
The precise operation of the crane allows for loads to be placed in hard-to-reach locations. This makes the lorry with crane incredibly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications within the rail infrastructure sector.
