New Robel and coated rails showcase the future of rail logistics at InnoTrans
Increasing rail capacity, higher infrastructure availability and a longer service life of rail infrastructure require smart innovations in both rail technology and logistics. At InnoTrans, we will present our new Robel for the transport, unloading and loading of long rails for the first time, demonstrating how these developments come together in future-oriented rail logistics.
New generation Robel for long rails
With this new-generation Robel, we are investing in a modern solution for handling 60 E1 and E2 rails, coated or uncoated, with a maximum length of 360 metres.
Safety, ease of operation and international deployment were key considerations throughout the development process. Thanks to improvements in ergonomics and lighting, the machine provides a safer and more comfortable working environment for employees involved in the daily unloading and loading of rails. In addition, the Robel has been designed entirely within the G1 loading gauge, eliminating the need for special transport and significantly simplifying cross-border operations.
The machine is suitable not only for the transport, unloading and loading of new rails, but also for the retrieval and removal of old rails. Its heavy-duty design and increased capacity also create opportunities for logistics applications within the circular rail sector, enabling recovered materials to be efficiently returned to the supply chain.
The introduction of the new Robel helps ensure the continued availability of modern loading and unloading capacity for long rails. This enables us to continue supporting our customers with reliable and flexible logistics solutions for rail projects, both now and in the future.
Also suitable for coated rails
At InnoTrans, we will showcase more than just the new Robel. Coated rails will also be on display, as innovations in logistics go hand in hand with innovations in rail infrastructure.
This combination is no coincidence. The new Robel is designed for the transport and unloading of both conventional and coated rails. As such, these developments align with the growing focus within the railway industry on solutions that contribute to a longer service life of rail infrastructure while reducing maintenance requirements.
