The main challenge in the design of the weld was to minimise the disturbance to the ride dynamics, and thus the 'dynamic energy', of the train over the track as much as possible. This results in the highest level of comfort and the least wear. This has been successfully achieved with the new ES weld. Therefore, voestalpine Railpro has given the weld the name NRG weld (eNeRGy). The new NRG weld is delivered as a prefab weld.
